May 28, 2013 -  "Immediately after Gary Johnson took his seat outside of Jake’s Saloon, a pub in New York City’s Hell’s Kitchen neighborhood, the former Libertarian presidential nominee made it clear how he felt once his campaign ended. 'On election day,' he told me. 'It was kind of like being let out of prison.'

"Welcome to the life of a losing presidential candidate. Like many of those who come up short in the race for the nation’s highest office, Johnson, in the months following his defeat, is working to make sense of what happened. He is analyzing the mistakes made, considering running again in 2016, looking to keep his voice relevant despite no longer having ‘nominee’ attached to his name and, indeed, blowing off a little steam.

"Of campaign mistakes, Johnson said there were many, perhaps even one hundred. Instead of listing them all, he honed in on two, fundraising and time management."
