Ron Paul gets raucous reception at Minnesota Republican convention - TwinCities.com - Megan Boldt:

May 18, 2012 - "Ron Paul ... The libertarian Texas Congressman found a raucous and receptive audience for his message of personal liberty and curbing the scope of government when he addressed the state convention in St. Cloud on Friday night, May 18....

"Paul congratulated Minnesota delegates for joining the revolution, saying it proves that the message is resonating. And it's not just striking a chord with Republicans -- independents and Democrats understand our country would do better if we had more personal liberty, less war and did away with the Federal Reserve, he said.

"'When government gets bigger, your liberties are diminished,' Paul said.

"Paul supporters dominated the Minnesota GOP convention, capturing almost half of the more than 2,000 delegate slots and ultimately endorsing Paul-backer state Rep. Kurt Bills to take on U.S. Sen. Amy Klobuchar in the general election....

"This past winter, Paul came in a strong second at Minnesota's caucuses, garnering about 26 percent of the vote.... Estimates show Paul has 20 of the 24 delegates to the national convention already selected in Minnesota. Another 13 will be elected Saturday at the GOP convention."
