Libertarian Gary Johnson qualifies for Maine’s presidential ballot – Capitol Incite - BDN Maine Blogs - Matthew Stone, Bangor Daily News:

August 6, 2012 - "Gary Johnson, the national Libertarian Party nominee for president, has turned in enough signatures to qualify for Maine’s presidential ballot. Volunteers for Johnson ... submitted the petitions to qualify him on Friday. Johnson is the first — and likely the only — non-party presidential candidate to turn in the needed petitions to qualify for the November ballot in Maine. Other campaigns have until 5 p.m. on Aug. 15.... Johnson will appear as a non-party candidate in Maine, where only the Democrats, Republicans and Green-Independents are official parties."
