Presidential Twitter debate monitored in Concord, NH - July 20, 2011:
(NECN: Lauren Collins, Concord, NH) "Wednesday's presidential twitter debate included six of the 10 GOP candidates. Questions came from all over the country but it was moderated in Concord, New Hampshire.... The forum is the brain-child of local activist and political media consultant Andrew Hemingway who wanted to use Twitter to bring the Granite State's retail politics experience to the masses. This debate comes two weeks after President Obama's Twitter town hall meeting -- even though it was announced first.
"'There were some elements of our debate that we'd announced that they actually incorporated and used so, you know, imitation is the sincerest form of flattery,' says Hemingway....
"'"I wanna really commend the candidates that accepted because it takes a lot of courage to accept a new format like this," says [Todd Cefaratti of www.TheTeaParty.net]."
