Ron Paul’s website comes under cyber-attack during fund-raiser « 100gf | Politics and Computers - John Cindy - Aug. 23, 2011:

Ron Paul‘s 2012 presidential campaign website came under cyber-attack at the weekend, coincidentally (or not?) just as he launched a major fund-raising drive. However, Paul still managed to raise $1.8m during the ‘Money Bomb’ weekend, suggesting that his campaign wasn’t too badly hampered.

In a statement on Ron Paul’s Facebook page, his team said that the Ron Paul 2012 website was under attack. The nature of the attack is unclear, although there is speculation that it was a DDOS attack, which usually means that a high volume of requests are sent to the site, maxing out its capacity....

The site’s operators managed to block the attack fairly quickly and got it back up and running.... Still, the whole thing raises the fascinating question of whether cyber-attacks might figure in the 2012 elections.
