Libertarian candidate McLarty sees tax reform as key election issue - Northumberland Today - Valerie Macdonald:

September 28, 2011 - "Jeffrey McLarty says he is running a one-person Libertarian campaign as the candidate for Northumberland-Quinte West in next week's provincial election.

"He is running in this provincial election 'because he believes the old, left-right, Liberal-Conservative, bi-polar way of thinking needs a refreshing Libertarian light cast upon it,' his website (www.jeffreymclarty.com) states.

"In an interview this week McLarty said he believes the reduction of government waste and inefficiencies would help everyone from low-income earners up, and that tax reform is key.

"'Taxes are currently unfair, too high and a burden to calculate, monitor, track and govern,' his website states.

"McLarty is a graduate of the University of Waterloo and has worked with a variety of businesses from Research in Motion to Ontario Power Generation."
